Gavin and Stacey Enthusiasts Purchase Iconic Property of Uncle Bryn

A pair of superfans have purchased the Barry home featured as Uncle Bryn’s house in the BBC hit Gavin and Stacey and plan to turn it into a themed holiday rental.

Jaxx Nelson and Tom Bodfish, a couple hailing from Banbury, have secured the Trinity Street residence in Barry, south Wales, famous for being the home of the eccentric Uncle Bryn in the BBC comedy Gavin and Stacey. They purchased the three-bedroom terrace for £210,000, shortly after another fan bought the neighboring house formerly used as Doris’s home.

The property remains a site of pilgrimage for fans of the sitcom, often appearing in key scenes such as Bryn navigating the internet to provide directions to Gavin or hosting social gatherings. Nelson described the discovery of the listing as purely serendipitous, noting that viewing the home was a surreal experience. The couple reported that they have already begun coordinating with local tour operators and frequently manage crowds of tourists gathering outside to take photographs.

The pair intends to transform the house into a themed vacation rental for fellow viewers, filled with subtle references and memorabilia from the show. However, they have issued a playful warning for future guests: mentioning the infamous fishing trip remains strictly prohibited.
