Law enforcement officers from the Delta State Police Command Anti-Cultism Unit apprehended two individuals suspected of involvement in cult activities within the Ibusa community. The operation, which took place in Oshimili North Local Government Area, occurred late on June 19, 2026.
State Police spokesperson Bright Edafe stated that the arrests followed a strategic crackdown on local criminal hideouts. Authorities identified the suspects as 26-year-old Okonkwo Prosper and 25-year-old Tuesday Emmanuel, both hailing from Aniofu in Aniocha North. During the raid, officers seized an English pump-action shotgun, five live cartridges, a machete, various charms, and suspected narcotics.
Official reports indicate the men are believed to be part of a group responsible for multiple violent confrontations in the Ibusa area. Both suspects are currently being held in police detention, and investigations are continuing as officers search for additional associates who managed to escape the scene.
