Ekiti Election: APC Leaders Express Optimism Amidst Calm Voting Process

Senator Ayo Arise and former Governor Kayode Fayemi have praised the orderly nature of the Ekiti governorship election, with both leaders expressing confidence in an APC victory despite moderate voter turnout.

Former Senator Ayo Arise remains certain that the All Progressives Congress will win the current gubernatorial race in Ekiti State, despite reports of moderate voter turnout. Speaking in Oye-Ekiti after casting his ballot, Arise characterized the voting procedure as orderly and efficient, noting that while queues were shorter than in past cycles, he believes the party faces no significant opposition.

Addressing the voter numbers, Arise remarked that the turnout was average rather than exceptional. He emphasized that the goal of reaching 500,000 votes remains an aspiration for the party, stating that failing to reach this figure would not be a failure but rather a motivation to encourage higher civic engagement in the future.

Former Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi also praised the election’s administration after voting in Isan-Ekiti. He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for a fast and seamless accreditation process. Regarding a recent security incident in his community, Fayemi clarified that the altercation was a personal dispute between two individuals, completely unrelated to the election or political activities. He confirmed that police authorities are handling the investigation and urged the public to remain calm, noting that the community remains peaceful and committed to the democratic process.
