Tehran halts passage through Strait of Hormuz following Israeli strikes in Lebanon

Iran has suspended maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, citing Israeli military strikes in Lebanon as a violation of its regional agreements.

Iran’s primary military command, the Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters, has declared a shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz. This decision was publicized on state television this Saturday, following Israeli military activities in southern Lebanon that Tehran characterizes as a violation of existing agreements with the United States.

The military statement confirmed that maritime movement has been halted as an immediate reaction to what officials labeled a broken promise by opposing forces. The command warned that if these military actions persist, Tehran is prepared to implement further measures to ensure the situation is addressed.

As a vital corridor for global oil transport, the Strait of Hormuz is under intense scrutiny by international analysts and energy markets. Any obstruction in this region frequently triggers global economic concerns regarding fuel supply and stability.
