Police in Niger State have arrested four men accused of conspiring to vandalize electrical transformers in Enagi town, Edati Local Government Area.

Command spokesperson SP Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the arrests in a statement on Monday, September 8, 2025, saying the suspects admitted to stealing transformer cables from two villages.

According to the statement, officers attached to Enagi Division, working with community members, apprehended the suspects — Mohammed Baba, Mohammed Ndako, Abdulrahman Mohammed, and Mohammed Ibrahim, all from Gbodoti village — on September 3 around 8 a.m.

They were detained after intelligence reports linked them to transformer vandalism. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to vandalizing and stealing cables in Gbodoti and Guzzan villages.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Minna for further investigation and prosecution.
