Andre Onana Secures Loan Move To Trabzonspor After Struggles At Manchester United
Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has agreed to join Turkish side Trabzonspor on a season-long loan, following a difficult spell at Old Trafford.
The 29-year-old signed for United from Inter Milan in 2023 for an initial €51 million (£43.8m), with a further €4 million (£3.4m) in add-ons. However, his time in England has been marred by high-profile mistakes that eventually saw him dropped from manager Ruben Amorim’s plans.
With no permanent offers on the table, a loan exit became Onana’s only opportunity to relaunch his career.
According to The Athletic, Trabzonspor will cover his full wages and have included performance-related bonuses that could see him earn nearly double his Manchester United salary.
The deal does not involve a loan fee and contains no option for a permanent transfer.
United have already secured a replacement, signing 22-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp for around £18 million on a five-year contract.
