Manchester United Secure Matheus Cunha On Five-Year Deal, Set To Wear No. 10 Shirt

Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, with the club prepared to activate his £62.5 million release clause.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Brazilian striker has agreed personal terms on a five-year deal at Old Trafford. United are expected to formally notify Wolves this week of their intention to trigger the release clause, which stands at approximately $83.4 million.

Despite signing a new four-year contract with Wolves as recently as February, Cunha has remained a target for United throughout the season. He has delivered an impressive campaign, tallying 15 goals and six assists in the Premier League.

United, who endured a disappointing season—finishing 15th and missing out on European competition for only the second time in 35 years—are desperate to revamp their attack. Head coach Ruben Amorim is keen to reinforce the forward line, especially with Rasmus Hojlund struggling for consistency and both Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford reportedly eyeing summer exits.

The addition of Cunha is seen as a pivotal move in reshaping United’s frontline as the club looks to rebuild after a dismal campaign.
