87-Year-Old Man Tried to Suffocate Wife with Pillow While on Holiday in Greece

A British man, 87, has been arrested in Greece on suspicion of attempting to murder his bedridden wife, 89.

The incident occurred on September 8 in Paleo Faliro, a seaside neighborhood near Athens.

The man is accused of trying to suffocate his wife with a pillow. After believing his wife was dead, he went to a friend’s apartment to report the incident.

The woman was taken to Tzaneio Hospital for treatment, and her condition is currently unknown.

The elderly man admitted to the attempted murder but claimed he acted at his wife’s request due to her long-standing health problems.

He was arrested after police were alerted by his report.
