Joe Exotic and his husband, Jorge Marquez Flores, have spoken for the first time since Jorge’s deportation, revealing the emotional toll of their separation. In an interview with TMZ, the couple described their farewell as deeply painful but not unexpected, having cherished their final weeks together with simple, meaningful routines.
Jorge, now in Mexico, shared that they spent time at the library and gym, and bonded by studying English and Spanish together. Though communication has been cut off since Jorge left the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, he has written several letters to Joe and is hopeful they will be delivered.
Meanwhile, Joe Exotic continues to battle for justice, maintaining that the testimony used to convict him was coerced under federal pressure. Despite multiple failed clemency bids, including a high-profile plea to former President Donald Trump, Joe remains active in public advocacy while pursuing appeals from behind bars.
Still, at 62, Joe said he has found solace in his relationship with Jorge, who is 33. He described their time together as the happiest period of his life, saying,
“If I die tomorrow, I’ve had the happiest 10 months of my life.”
