Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, the presidential nominee for the Action Democratic Party (ADP), has voiced apprehension regarding rumors of potential unauthorized changes to the party’s candidacy for the 2027 election. In a statement issued in Kaduna by his media aide, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, Abbas insisted that any modification to the ticket must strictly follow legal and institutional protocols.
Abbas emphasized that he secured the nomination through official party channels and warned that bypassing these procedures would violate both the Nigerian Constitution and the Electoral Act. While acknowledging reports of political pressure to alter the ticket, he stated that his candidacy is not a private asset to be negotiated in private. He urged the ADP leadership, including National Chairman Engr. Yabagi Yusuf Sani, to uphold the integrity of the primary process and maintain clear documentation for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The candidate called for full transparency, asserting that any future adjustments to the presidential ticket must be conducted according to established law. He concluded by reminding party stakeholders that the nomination represents the will of the members and that democratic norms must be respected as the nation prepares for the next electoral cycle.
