At the 2026 Euromoney Awards for Excellence held in London, Zenith Bank Plc was honored as both Africa’s Best Bank and Nigeria’s Best Bank for the second year in a row. This achievement highlights the institution’s ongoing influence within the financial sector. The awards committee based their decision on the bank’s digital advancements, robust financial results, commitment to economic growth, and quality of service.
Dr. Adaora Umeoji, the Group Managing Director and CEO of Zenith Bank, stated that these accolades represent the trust placed in the institution by its stakeholders. She credited the success to the staff’s hard work and expressed a desire to continue improving financial inclusion and customer value. Dr. Umeoji also expressed gratitude to regional regulators and dedicated the wins to the bank’s founder, Jim Ovia.
During the 2025 fiscal year, Zenith Bank demonstrated solid growth, reporting N4.19 trillion in gross earnings and a profit after tax of N1.04 trillion. Additionally, the bank improved its asset quality by lowering its non-performing loan ratio to 3.8 percent. These awards follow the bank’s recent recognition by The Banker as Nigeria’s top institution by Tier-1 Capital for the 17th year running.
