Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers have submitted a €20 million offer for Getafe’s Nigerian midfielder, Christantus Uche, as the club looks to reinforce its squad ahead of the new season.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on X, writing:
“Wolves have submitted official bid to Getafe worth €20m for Christantus Uche. Negotiations underway to get deal done as #WWFC want new striker asap.”
Though Romano labeled Uche as a striker option, the 22-year-old is best known for his versatility in midfield, where he blends defensive grit with attacking creativity.
Since joining Getafe from Spanish side Ceuta last summer, Uche has quickly established himself as a key figure. He made 33 league appearances last season, netting four goals, and most recently shone in Getafe’s 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo, where he contributed both a goal and an assist to earn Man of the Match honors.
His breakout performances have attracted attention from several European clubs, but Wolves are currently leading the race. Should the deal go through, it would be Uche’s first venture into the Premier League, furthering the growing wave of Nigerian internationals making their mark in English football.
