Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, stated on Monday that President Bola Tinubu is committed to bringing the benefits of governance to every resident of Nigeria and the nation’s capital. Wike noted that these infrastructure improvements are accessible to everyone, regardless of their political affiliation.
The remarks were made during the inauguration of upgraded and expanded roads stretching from the Karu Interchange to the Customs Clinic Junction. This project, part of the celebrations for the President’s one-year anniversary, saw Vice President Kashim Shettima attend on behalf of President Tinubu.
Wike emphasized that the quality of infrastructure transcends partisan divides. He pointed out that opposition members and non-politicians alike rely on these newly constructed routes daily. He remarked that development should be recognized for its merit regardless of who is in power. Highlighting the positive impact on local residents, Wike shared an anecdote about a citizen who noted that improved road access has significantly reduced traffic congestion, even leading to increased property values in the area. The Minister reaffirmed the current administration’s pledge to ensure that progress reaches every corner of the FCT while requesting continued public support and prayers.
