Ladipo Johnson, the representative for Rabi’u Kwankwaso, stated that Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, is frustrated by an escalating leadership conflict within the OK Movement. During a discussion on Arise Television, Johnson admitted that internal friction has developed.
Johnson characterized the issue as a fleeting complication rather than a fundamental threat to the group’s political goals. He noted that the conflict serves as an unnecessary distraction while supporters should be prioritizing the national expansion of the Movement’s infrastructure. The dispute reportedly arose from friction between specific members and the group’s leadership.
He cautioned that such infighting risks fracturing the foundation of the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso alliance, which is intended to serve as a viable political alternative for the 2027 elections. Johnson confirmed that Peter Obi was informed of the situation and expressed clear unhappiness regarding the ongoing turmoil. He stated that taking unilateral actions that damage the unity of the candidate’s support base is counterproductive to the ultimate goal of securing the presidency.
