Galatasaray is setting its sights on Super Eagles player Emmanuel Fernandez, acting on a strong recommendation from Victor Osimhen. According to reports from Ajansspor, the Turkish titleholders are preparing for a busy transfer window as they anticipate potential interest in their defender, Davinson Sanchez, from the Italian club Como.
While the club previously considered high-profile names like Virgil van Dijk and Kim Min-jae, Fernandez has emerged as a primary focus. The 24-year-old Nigerian, who previously played for Peterborough United, enjoyed a productive campaign with Rangers last season, scoring six goals in 33 appearances. He is widely praised for his aerial prowess, set-piece threat, and defensive versatility, with the ability to play both centrally and at right-back.
Osimhen, who plays alongside Fernandez for the Nigerian national team, has encouraged Galatasaray’s leadership to pursue his teammate. However, the Turkish side faces significant competition, as Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, and Rennes have also expressed interest in signing the versatile defender.
