A Nigerian-born woman serving in the US Army has turned to social media to request help from President Donald Trump regarding a visa issue that has blocked her 10-year-old daughter from joining her in the United States. The soldier explained that her daughter is suffering from a life-threatening illness that requires medical resources currently unavailable to her in Nigeria.
In a TikTok video, the mother highlighted that they have been apart for a decade. She expressed deep anxiety that her daughter might pass away before they can reunite. Despite her commitment to military service and respect for American laws, she described this plea as a desperate, final attempt to save her child.
Although the immigration documentation was finalized, travel remains restricted. The soldier stated that she has exhausted official channels, including reaching out to her military commander and US Senator Amy Klobuchar, to no avail. The senator was previously told the visa process was proceeding normally.
The mother emphasized that her request is based on humanitarian grounds rather than politics. She questioned the logic of serving a nation with superior medical infrastructure while her child lacks access to critical care abroad. Asserting that her children pose no national security threat, she asked for a compassionate exception to existing immigration policies to allow their family to finally be together.
