Ukrainian forces target missile electronics site in Russia

Ukrainian forces targeted a Russian missile electronics plant and a satellite communications hub, triggering widespread air defense responses and temporary airport closures in the Moscow region.

On Monday, the Ukrainian military announced successful strikes against a facility in the Voronezh region responsible for manufacturing missile electronics, alongside the Dubna satellite communications hub in the Moscow area. The Ukrainian General Staff noted that air-launched cruise missiles targeted the Voronezh plant, characterizing it as a vital link in Russian military supply lines.

Alexander Gusev, the governor of Voronezh, acknowledged that a local factory sustained damage and reported three injuries, though he declined to confirm the specific nature of the facility. He stated that regional air defenses intercepted multiple high-speed aerial threats and cautioned civilians to remain alert for additional strikes.

Reports from the Ukrainian military further indicated that the Dubna satellite center was hit, resulting in visible heavy smoke. Meanwhile, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that 84 drones aimed at the capital were neutralized throughout the day. In response, Russian aviation authorities halted traffic at Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky airports. The Russian Ministry of Defence claimed that 301 drones were destroyed in total overnight, including those over occupied Ukrainian territory.
