A Nigerian woman residing in the United Kingdom has stated she has no intention of returning to her home country permanently, regardless of financial incentives. Even when presented with a hypothetical offer of £15 million, she firmly declined, emphasizing that her migration was not motivated by financial gain.
The woman, who hails from Ogun State, explained that her departure was triggered by the tragic loss of two children due to medical negligence in Nigeria. She noted that these deaths occurred in quick succession over a two-year period. Reflecting on the trauma, she opted not to discuss the specific details of the incidents to avoid emotional distress.
She mentioned that medical professionals in the UK often react with shock when she describes the level of care she received in Nigeria. Conversely, her experience with the British healthcare system has validated her choice to stay. She recounted that her son survived only because of the immediate and effective medical intervention provided in the UK, asserting that he likely would not have survived if born in Nigeria.
