Two individuals apprehended in Delta for alleged tramadol possession

Delta State police officers intercepted a vehicle on Nnebisi Road, leading to the arrest of two men and the seizure of 132 sachets of tramadol.

Law enforcement officials working with Operation Delta Shield detained two men on suspicion of drug dealing while performing routine vehicle checks on Nnebisi Road in Asaba. The suspects, 54-year-old Hillary Osondu and 54-year-old Abubakar Bello, were apprehended on Thursday.

Delta State Police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, reported that the arrests occurred after officers stopped a Toyota Hiace bus, license plate ZBL-549-XA, on August 13, 2026. A subsequent inspection of the vehicle yielded 132 sachets of 100mg tramadol. Both individuals are currently detained as authorities continue their inquiry.

Following the successful operation, Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, praised the patrol team for their swift actions. He further encouraged personnel throughout the command to maintain this level of diligence by focusing on intelligence-driven operations.
