Trump Sparks Criticism After Calling Press Secretary’s Looks “Beautiful… And Those Lips That Don’t Stop”
The Pennsylvania rally was meant to be an economic pitch yet President Donald Trump steered the crowd into a different kind of spectacle, drawing gasps and side-eye with remarks about his own press secretary, Karoline Leavitt.
In the middle of his speech, Trump suddenly shifted gears, praising the 28-year-old aide not for her policies, but for her “beautiful face and those lips that don’t stop… pop-pop-pop like a little machine gun.”
The crowd roared.
He called Leavitt a “superstar”, raving about her television appearances and suggesting her lack of fear came from “the right policy” an odd justification for comments that quickly spiraled across social media.
Critics wasted no time:
“Who says things like this about a female who works for him? It’s creepy and gross,” one X user wrote.
“Weird thing to say about your subordinate,” another added.
This isn’t Trump’s first time blurring the lines between praise and objectification when talking about female staffers but the discomfort, outrage, and political conversation it triggered felt all too familiar.
The moment, captured on video, continues to ripple online… and not for reasons tied to the economy he had come to discuss.
