Top 10 Global Church Auditoriums by Seating Capacity

A look at the ten largest church auditoriums worldwide, ranked by their seating capacity in a single worship service, with a heavy concentration of these megachurches found in Nigeria.

Several of the world’s most prominent churches distinguish themselves through massive auditoriums designed to host thousands of people during a single gathering. This trend is particularly evident in Africa, where Pentecostal congregations have established worship centers capable of seating tens of thousands of worshippers. Nigeria serves as a primary hub for these expansive facilities.

This ranking focuses exclusively on the seating capacity of the primary worship hall, excluding total membership numbers, attendance stats, or entire campus capacities. Notably, the Hand of God Cathedral in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, operated by Salvation Ministries under Pastor David Ibiyeomie, currently holds the top position with 120,000 seats. It was dedicated in November 2025.

Nigeria also hosts the ambitious Ark project by Living Faith Church Worldwide in Ota. Expected to seat 109,345 people, this facility is currently under construction near the existing 50,000-seat Faith Tabernacle. In Abuja, the Glory Dome of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre provides seating for 100,000, while the Champions Royal Assembly, also in Abuja, features an 80,000-seat venue known as the City of Wonders.

Outside of Nigeria, the Temple of the Glory of God in São Paulo, Brazil, seats 60,000 and serves the God Is Love Pentecostal Church. The Nginden Bethany Church in Surabaya, Indonesia, follows with a 35,000-seat capacity. Returning to Nigeria, the Word of Life Bible Church in Warri operates a 35,000-seat facility. Zimbabwe contributes to the list with the United Family International Church auditorium in Chitungwiza, which accommodates 30,000 worshippers. Finally, the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Lagos completes the list with its 30,000-seat auditorium.
