Media figure and actress Toke Makinwa has shared that she has permanently stopped purchasing presents for men she dates. She discussed this decision during a recent edition of her Toke Moments podcast, which featured reality television personality Beauty Tukura as a guest.
Makinwa attributed this shift to a painful experience involving an older partner during her time as a university student. She explained that she used her tuition money to fund his birthday festivities, only to discover his infidelity immediately afterward.
She described the traumatic encounter, noting that she treated him to an expensive Italian restaurant in Victoria Island, where he ordered extensively from the menu. Upon returning to his residence, she was shocked to find another woman present, an event she described as profoundly devastating.
