Singer Portable Reacts To Buhari’s Death With Controversial Statement

Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has reacted to the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari in a now-viral video that has sparked intense reactions across social media.

Speaking in Yoruba, Portable did not mince words as he criticized the late president, referencing the 2020 #EndSARS protest at the Lekki Toll Gate. He accused Buhari of being responsible for the violence unleashed on peaceful demonstrators during the nationwide movement.

“The man that said they should shøot our people at the Lekki Toll Gate is deåd. Let us do good. May he d!e again in Heaven,” he said bluntly.

The street-hop artist further stirred controversy by reviving an old conspiracy theory, alleging that Buhari had died while still in office and that the individual Nigerians saw thereafter was merely a body double—not the real Buhari.
