Senator Buhari credits security cooperation for Oyo abduction rescue

Senator Abdulfatai Buhari attributes the successful rescue of abducted Oyo schoolchildren and teachers to the effective collaboration between various security agencies.

Abdulfatai Buhari, the Senator for Oyo North, stated that the safe recovery of abducted students and teachers in Oyo was made possible by the unified efforts of various security organizations. Buhari shared these thoughts on Monday while appearing on the Arise Television program Prime Time.

The lawmaker commended the military for their commitment to the operation. He noted that the success stemmed from specific roles assigned to different units, including a specialized team directed by the office of the National Security Adviser.

Recounting his observations, Buhari mentioned seeing a naval battalion in Ogbomosho roughly a month ago. He later realized this was part of the coordinated strategy. He praised the local leadership, including the General Officer Commanding and the garrison commander, for their readiness and resolve. On Monday, the military officially returned the freed victims to the Oyo state government.
