Soldiers attached to Sector 7 of Operation Enduring Peace successfully stopped six individuals suspected of supplying logistics to terrorists near the Samaru checkpoint in Kaduna State’s Zangon Kataf area. The interception occurred at 9:40 a.m. this past Monday as the group traveled in an ash-colored Mercedes-Benz, bearing plate number EDO GUE-722-LV, moving from Jos, Plateau State, toward Niger State.
Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, the media officer for the operation, confirmed that forces discovered three AK-47 rifles and four sub-machine guns concealed within the vehicle. During the encounter, one passenger tried to flee the scene but was quickly captured; the individual remains in stable condition after receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the struggle.
Currently, all six suspects and the seized weaponry are being held by military authorities for intensive questioning. Captain Oteh noted that the mission represents an ongoing effort to dismantle criminal supply chains. The military continues to request that citizens report any unusual activity to help maintain regional security.
