Salihu Lukman, a prominent figure within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), recently disclosed that he put his party membership on hold due to growing frustration. During an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Friday, Lukman highlighted the urgent necessity for unity among ADC leadership to confront Nigeria’s national crises. He stressed that the primary focus must remain on the welfare of the country rather than the interests of any single political organization.
Formerly serving as the Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lukman expressed openness to resuming his active status within the ADC, provided that the move supports a broader, collaborative effort. He believes the objective should be to field a trustworthy candidate capable of winning public trust, regardless of their specific political platform. Lukman stated clearly that current partisan approaches are insufficient for resolving the nation’s ongoing difficulties, emphasizing that the survival of Nigeria takes precedence over the existence of the ADC.
