Safana Chairman Distributes Vehicles, Empowers Over 1,300 Residents

The Chairman of Safana Local Government Area in Katsina State, Alhaji Abdullahi Sani, has handed out 10 vehicles to councillors and provided empowerment support to 1,322 residents.

The programme was unveiled on Thursday by Governor Dikko Radda, who praised the initiative as the most extensive and impactful empowerment effort he has seen in any LGA so far.

Radda hailed the chairman’s leadership, calling it a strong demonstration of commitment to grassroots development. He noted that the initiative reflects exactly what functional local government autonomy should deliver real improvements in the everyday lives of citizens.

According to him, the empowerment drive strengthens small businesses, boosts self-reliance, and reinforces the economic foundation of communities across Safana.

“What Safana has done today is exceptional,” the governor said. “It is the most far-reaching empowerment programme I’ve encountered in my visits to local governments.”

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding empowerment opportunities and supporting initiatives that uplift women, youths, and vulnerable groups throughout Katsina State.

Earlier, Chairman Sani thanked the governor for enabling the programme through timely release of the LGA’s allocations.

Items distributed included sewing machines, grinding machines, noodle-making machines, motorcycles, a council bus, power tillers, and a vehicle for the APC Local Government Chairman. Beneficiaries also received tricycles for persons with disabilities, bags of flour, and cash support for women, youths, vulnerable people, and APC executives at the local and ward levels.

The event came during the governor’s ongoing tour of all 34 LGAs. During his visit to Safana, Radda also paid homage to the District Head, Yariman Katsina Alhaji Sada Rufa’i, and met with key community stakeholders.
