The Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre (RULAAC) is pressing the Abia State Government to reveal the findings of its inquiry into the alleged abuse of the Chikadibia family. Executive Director Okechukwu Nwanguma warned that the government’s prolonged silence risks damaging its reputation regarding transparency and justice.
Following an order from Governor Alex Otti for an investigation into the April 12, 2025, incident in Alaukwu, Osisioma Ngwa, no public updates have surfaced. RULAAC claims that Sunday Chikadibia and his daughters, Glory, Ngozi, and Ogechi, were subjected to wrongful detention, prosecution, and the destruction of their home by police officers who also allegedly seized personal valuables.
RULAAC highlighted that the family’s plight was further worsened by the passing of Chioma Chikadibia on August 8, 2025, following the trauma of the event. The group is advocating for the immediate publication of the probe report, the prosecution of responsible officers, and the provision of humanitarian, housing, and educational aid for the survivors.
