Robbie Fowler Undergoes Surgery To Remove Skin Cancer From Face

Liverpool icon Robbie Fowler has disclosed that he recently underwent surgery to remove skin cancer from his face, urging the public to take unusual skin changes seriously.

The former England international, now 50, shared before-and-after photos on social media showing a noticeable lump above his left eyebrow, which he revealed was diagnosed as basal cell carcinoma.

In his post, Fowler encouraged people to seek medical checks for suspicious marks. He wrote that any unusual blemishes or spots should be examined promptly, adding that his own condition was caught early and treated successfully.

Basal cell carcinoma is the most common type of skin cancer and typically appears as a slow-growing or scaly bump. While often not aggressive, it can cause significant damage to surrounding skin if left untreated.

Fowler remains one of the most prolific strikers in Liverpool’s history, making over 250 appearances for the club across two spells. Between 1993 and 2001, he scored 120 goals and was twice named the PFA Young Player of the Year in 1995 and 1996.

He later featured for Leeds United and Manchester City before returning briefly to Anfield for the 2006–07 season. Despite his impressive club career, Fowler earned 26 caps for England, scoring seven international goals.
