The 32-year-old sustained the injury during a training session in Denmark on 24 July, which led to her being airlifted to a medical facility where doctors treated her for a cerebral haematoma and oedema.
After an emergency procedure and time in a medically induced coma, her management team, Vote Boxing, reported that her most recent surgery was a success. They noted that this development is a critical advancement in her rehabilitation and simplifies the logistics of her eventual travel back home. Providing her recovery remains on track, she could return to the UK next week to be closer to family.
The Norwich-born athlete, who holds a professional record of 10 wins and two losses, previously challenged Skye Nicolson for the WBC featherweight belt in Saudi Arabia. To assist with her ongoing medical needs, a crowdfunding initiative has been established, garnering more than £88,000 in donations. Her management expressed deep gratitude to the public for their financial contributions and continued messages of support during this challenging period.
