The injury occurred during Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Hibernian when the 22-year-old collided with advertising hoardings following a heavy challenge, resulting in his removal from the pitch on a stretcher.
The club confirmed via social media that the forward will be unavailable for a significant period. The Portuguese player joined Rangers from Everton in September 2025 in a deal reported to be the club’s largest transfer expenditure since 2000. Since his arrival, he has recorded 15 goals in 43 appearances.
The injury comes shortly after Rangers rejected a transfer bid for the striker. Before the match, manager Derek McInnes addressed rumors linking Chermiti to Galatasaray, noting that no external offer had met the club’s valuation.
