Rahul Dravid remains interested in coaching roles despite ETPL ownership

Former India head coach Rahul Dravid says he is still open to coaching roles despite becoming a co-owner of the Dublin Guardians in the European T20 Premier League.

Following his tenure leading India to a 2024 T20 World Cup triumph, Rahul Dravid has confirmed he is not finished with coaching. Despite becoming a co-owner of the Dublin Guardians for the upcoming European T20 Premier League (ETPL), the former national head coach is keeping his options open.

Dravid, who represented India in 164 Tests and 344 ODIs, noted that the ETPL season is relatively short, occupying only one month of the year. While he is committed to dedicating time and energy to his new franchise duties, he emphasized that the role offers him the flexibility to pursue other professional engagements. He told BBC Sport that he would be interested in further coaching opportunities should the right situation arise.

This availability comes as England begins its search for a new Test coach to replace Brendon McCullum. While the ETPL schedule runs from August 26 to September 20, potentially conflicting with upcoming international series, Dravid remains a highly regarded figure in the sport. His previous resume includes reaching the 2023 World Test Championship final and a recent stint leading the Rajasthan Royals in the 2025 Indian Premier League.
