Protecting Investor Funds is Primary Post-Listing Hurdle, Says AVA Capital CEO

AVA Capital CEO Kayode Fadahunsi identifies protecting investor capital as the firm’s top priority following its recent debut on the Nigerian Exchange.

AVA Capital Plc Managing Director and CEO, Kayode Fadahunsi, recently identified the protection of investor capital as the firm’s most significant challenge after its market debut. During a media event in Lagos, Fadahunsi emphasized that maintaining trust is the company’s highest objective.

The company recently joined the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Main Board through a listing by introduction. This move involved five billion ordinary shares valued at N7.50 each, resulting in a total market capitalization of N37.5 billion. Now that the firm is publicly traded, Fadahunsi noted that it must answer to a diverse group of shareholders, regulators, and employees.

To support its long-term growth, the company plans to focus on enhanced transparency and accountability. The Board of Directors intends to establish a sustainable dividend policy as a key component of its corporate governance framework. While the company is actively managing external economic pressures like inflation, interest rate fluctuations, and currency volatility, Fadahunsi reiterated that ensuring the safety of investor assets remains the central focus of their post-listing strategy.
