Prince Harry Evaluates UK Visit Plans for Family Amid Security Denial

Prince Harry is re-evaluating his upcoming UK visit after being denied taxpayer-funded police protection for his family.

Prince Harry is currently reassessing his plans to bring Meghan Markle and their children to the United Kingdom next month. This shift comes after authorities denied his request for police protection during the visit. The trip was intended to be the first family visit to the UK in four years for Archie and Lilibet.

The Duke of Sussex’s security team received word on Friday that no taxpayer-funded protection would be provided. This decision by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) arrived shortly before the family’s scheduled arrival. Reports indicate the prince is deeply upset by the outcome, though he is still exploring options to salvage the trip.

The couple had previously accepted King Charles’s offer to stay at a royal estate, which would have provided security coverage while on the premises. However, their security would have remained the responsibility of their private team during outings. The planned five-day itinerary included public engagements in London and the Midlands to support the upcoming Invictus Games and various charitable causes.

The Duke has previously expressed concerns regarding his family’s safety in the UK following a failed legal challenge regarding state-funded security. While a final decision on the visit remains pending, the outcome underscores the ongoing tension regarding the Duke’s security arrangements during his returns to his home country.
