President Tinubu Committed to National Security, Says Senator Ndume

Senator Ali Ndume reports that President Tinubu has pledged his full support for national security efforts following their private meeting.

Senator Ali Ndume representing Borno South recently shared that President Bola Tinubu promised to utilize all necessary resources to restore safety across Nigeria. The two met at the Presidential Villa for a discussion focused primarily on the country’s security challenges.

During an appearance on Channels Television, Ndume noted that he was blunt with the President regarding the dire situation in Borno State and the fears of citizens affected by insurgency. According to the senator, President Tinubu expressed appreciation for his straightforwardness. While some details of the meeting remain private, Ndume stated that he trusts the President’s commitment to protecting the nation.

The lawmaker advised the President to consult with esteemed Nigerians who can provide honest feedback and innovative solutions for governance. He also praised the recent success of security agencies in rescuing hostages, noting that it highlights the potential of the DSS and the military when they work with proper equipment and motivation. However, Ndume urged the authorities to maintain their momentum, specifically requesting the rescue of remaining captives in areas like Mussa, Lassa, and Gwoza. He concluded by calling for greater investment in military hardware, such as attack helicopters, to further boost counter-insurgency efforts.
