Law enforcement officials in Kwara State have taken Muhamodu Sanni into custody. Authorities believe he is a member of a criminal group responsible for abductions near the Obudu and Woru areas of Ilorin East.
Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the spokesperson for the state police, confirmed the arrest on Wednesday. The suspect was captured while he was in the process of withdrawing funds suspected to be ransom payments.
The investigation began after three individuals were forcibly taken during a raid on Obudu village on July 28, 2026. Police utilized advanced intelligence techniques to track the suspects’ financial activities and communication networks. This strategy eventually pinpointed Sanni as a key person of interest, leading to his capture as the department continues its campaign against kidnapping in the region.
