Police Chief Disu mandates expanded search for Kebbi attackers

Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has directed an intensified search for suspects involved in a fatal attack in Kebbi State that claimed the lives of 10 officers and civilians.

Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has mandated a heightened operational effort to track down the individuals behind a deadly assault in the Rafin Makuku area of Sakaba, Kebbi State. This violent incident resulted in the deaths of 10 police officers and several civilians. Force Public Relations Officer CSP Ani Iniedu confirmed the order in a Thursday statement.

Previously, on Tuesday, the IGP dispatched a team headed by Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, Umar Shehu-Nadada, to coordinate with local officials and stakeholders regarding the region’s security. The team is charged with bolstering protective measures for vulnerable populations and deterring future acts of violence.

During their visit, the delegation expressed Disu’s sorrow regarding the loss of life and guaranteed that the perpetrators will face justice. The IGP has ordered the mobilization of all necessary intelligence and operational assets to locate and arrest those involved. Additionally, the police leadership pledged to uphold welfare obligations to the families of the deceased officers. Collaborative efforts with the Kebbi State government and local security partners will continue to ensure the safety of residents.
