Phillies Star Alec Bohm Sues Parents Over Alleged Financial Mismanagement
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm has initiated a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against his parents, Daniel and Lisa Bohm, accusing them of misappropriating his career earnings for personal use.
The legal filing, submitted to a Philadelphia court on March 25, 2026, claims that his parents funneled millions from his personal accounts into four limited liability companies (LLCs) under their control.
Bohm alleges that after he began auditing his finances, his parents blocked his access to these accounts and used the capital—including funds from the Alec Bohm Foundation—to finance their lifestyle, which reportedly includes traveling the country in a recreational vehicle.
The defense, led by attorney Robert Eckard, has characterized the lawsuit as a tragic misunderstanding, asserting that the Bohms have always prioritized their son’s best interests.
They maintain that the athlete has had consistent access to the funds and that they have been covering his expenses using their own credit cards.
According to the defense, the first of these accounts was established in 2019 with a 10% administrative stake for the parents, while Bohm remained the beneficial owner. However, the lawsuit seeks at least $3 million in damages and a court-ordered accounting of all transfers made by his parents.

The legal drama emerged just as the 2026 MLB season commenced, with Bohm currently playing under a $10.2 million contract.
Despite the off-field distractions, Bohm participated in the Phillies’ season opener against the Texas Rangers on March 26, hitting a three-run home run to help secure a 5-3 victory.
Following the game, the 29-year-old infielder declined to discuss the litigation with reporters, stating his intention to keep his personal and professional lives separate as the case moves toward trial.
