Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State and presidential hopeful for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, asserts that the current Federal Government is actively trying to block his path to the 2027 presidential election. Speaking to an audience at Madonna University in Okija, Obi emphasized his resolve to continue his campaign despite these political hurdles.
Addressing the resistance he faces, Obi noted that he is aware of efforts to keep his name off the ballot. He remains steadfast, arguing that challenges are necessary for developing the political will required to reform society. For Obi, these difficulties serve as a means to build the resilience needed to achieve his goals.
Beyond his own campaign, Obi encouraged citizens to secure their Permanent Voter Cards, warning that neglecting to participate in the voting process undermines their own futures. He clarified that his candidacy is driven by his personal competence rather than tribal affiliation, claiming to be the most qualified individual in the race. Furthermore, he issued a challenge to his opponents, including President Bola Tinubu, to engage in public debates to explain their specific visions for Nigeria’s future.
