Pep Guardiola to Depart Manchester City Following Final Match

Pep Guardiola is set to leave Manchester City after a successful 10-year tenure that saw the club win 17 major trophies.

Manchester City has officially announced that manager Pep Guardiola will step down following the team’s final match of the season this Sunday.

During his decade-long tenure, the 55-year-old coach guided the club to 17 major trophies, highlighted by six Premier League championship victories. His concluding appearance at the helm will take place at the Etihad Stadium against Aston Villa.

Regarding his departure, which occurs one year prior to his contract expiration, Guardiola noted that while there is no specific reason, he feels his time at the club has come to an end. He emphasized that although his professional role is not permanent, the bonds and memories formed at Manchester City will remain lasting.

This news follows a challenging week for the club, as Arsenal secured the 2025-26 Premier League title after City drew against Bournemouth.

Reports suggest that former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, a former colleague under Guardiola at City, is currently the leading candidate to succeed him.
