During the 80th birthday celebration of former Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang in Jos, former Minister of Women Affairs Pauline Tallen announced that she has put their previous political conflicts behind her. The occasion, which featured the launch of Jang’s memoir titled From Airman to Politics, was attended by notable figures such as Vice President Kashim Shettima and former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Tallen described the reconciliation as a choice to prioritize peace over past grievances. She noted that their shared history, which began when Jang recruited her as a running mate, was built on mutual respect and a shared vision for Plateau State. Despite differences in their political affiliations, Tallen emphasized that her admiration for his leadership remained constant throughout their careers.
The event also included remarks from APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who praised Jang as a foundational figure in the development of Plateau State. Yilwatda highlighted the former governor’s long tenure in public service, spanning from his time in the Nigerian Air Force to his roles as an administrator, governor, and senator. He lauded Jang’s commitment to justice and unity, noting that his legacy serves as an inspiration for upcoming leaders.
