During a visit to his palace in Ilesa on Thursday, Oba Adesuyi Haastrup, the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, offered prayers for the electoral success of Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate. The monarch emphasized the necessity of effective leadership and the positive outcomes stemming from cooperation between state and federal authorities, noting the ongoing repairs on the Ilesa-Ife-Ibadan Expressway as a prime example of successful collaboration.
Oba Haastrup specifically requested that the candidate prioritize local development, including support for the establishment of the Obokun University project started by Senator Francis Fadahunsi. In response, Oyebamiji pledged to lead with impartiality, stating that his administration would avoid favoritism and ensure the equitable distribution of state resources across all regions.
Reflecting on his past leadership as Managing Director of the Osun State Investment Company Limited (OSICOL), Oyebamiji highlighted his track record of turning the company around. He detailed the acquisition of significant property assets in Abuja and Lagos, as well as the construction of a major filling station, all achieved without incurring debt. He promised to apply this same commitment to fiscal responsibility and service if elected on August 15.
