One Injured, Five Rescued After Building Collapse In Lagos
One person was injured and five others rescued after a two-storey building collapsed on Wednesday evening, September 24, at 4 Modupeola Street, Mangoro Bus Stop, Alimosho, Lagos State.
A 44-year-old man from nearby Olabode Street was trapped under the debris around 6:00 p.m. before being pulled out with fractures and bruises. He was rushed by LASAMBUS officials to LASUTH’s Surgical Emergency Unit, where he was admitted in stable condition.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed that the five rescued victims were taken to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
“LASEMA and other first responders got to the scene in good time and rescued a trapped victim and five others from the rubble,” Omotoso said, adding that the injured man was stable upon arrival at the hospital.
Videos shared online showed LASEMA officials assisting in the rescue efforts as bystanders watched.
