The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has commended the Peter Mbah-led Enugu State Government for unveiling Enugu Air, describing it as a transformative step that will unlock economic growth and job creation in the South-East.

In a statement on Tuesday, National President Mazi Okwu Nnabuike praised the initiative as a “milestone achievement” and a testament to Governor Mbah’s prudent economic management and bold innovation in governance.

“This is the first state-owned airline in the South-East, and only the second in the country after Akwa Ibom. It speaks volumes,” he said.

Okwu highlighted that one of the airline’s captains is an Enugu youth — a development he said signals opportunities for youth employment and regional prosperity.

He urged residents across political lines to rally behind the Mbah administration, stating:

“He is showing governance; it is time for everyone to support the government fully.”

Okwu also expressed optimism that Enugu Air will soon secure its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC), noting that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has already approved domestic operations through a partnership with XEJET.
