Yunusa Tanko, the national leader of the Obidient Movement, has openly challenged First Lady Remi Tinubu regarding her recent remarks about selling roasted corn and akara. During a Wednesday appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time program, Tanko argued that individuals who have invested time in university education should not be defined by such menial labor.
Tanko stated that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), aims to dismantle these limiting narratives. He emphasized that Obi’s vision is to ensure that academic achievement is rewarded with appropriate career opportunities and fair compensation. He further highlighted Obi’s record in his home state, where he improved educational standards and prioritized the safety of lives and property. According to Tanko, these accomplishments make Obi a compelling choice for the presidency.
