Between March 28 and 30, 2026, troops from Operation HADIN KAI successfully neutralized several terrorist threats and dismantled supply chains across Borno State.
According to a statement released Tuesday by Joint Task Force spokesperson Sani Uba, the military intercepted substantial logistics consignments and apprehended multiple collaborators linked to Boko Haram and ISWAP.
Combat Successes and Prevented Attacks
The military utilized advanced surveillance to frustrate insurgent ambitions in several key areas:
-
Damboa: Troops detected and engaged a group of fighters planning a large-scale assault, forcing them to retreat.
-
Gwoza & Askira Uba: Attempted raids on local farming communities were repelled, with insurgents fleeing toward the Mandara Mountains.
-
Sabotage Foiled: Engineers recovered and detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the Goniri–Ngamdu road. Troops also cleared rail tracks that terrorists had positioned to trap vehicles in “killing zones.”
Logistics and Supply Chain Disruptions
A major blow was dealt to the insurgents’ operational capacity through the seizure of two truckloads of unauthorized supplies.
The intercepted goods, hidden in sacks and headed toward the Chadian border, included:
-
Medical supplies and detergents.
-
Motorcycle components (tubes, tires, and air filters).
-
Survival gear such as mats and mosquito nets.
Key Arrests and Intelligence Breakthroughs
In partnership with the Civilian Joint Task Force, the military secured several high-profile arrests:
-
Mohammed Adamu (26): Apprehended at Muna Garage; suspected of long-term smuggling of motorcycle parts to terror enclaves.
-
Abubakar Ali (alias “Saina”): A suspected JAS/ISWAP member caught while performing a reconnaissance mission at a checkpoint.
-
Mass Apprehensions: 13 suspects were detained in Gubio, while others confessed to providing sustained logistical support to extremist groups.
Public Safety and Commendation
Beyond counter-terrorism, troops arrested a suspected kidnapper in Damboa and confiscated 450 wraps of suspected marijuana during clearance operations.
The Military High Command praised the personnel for their vigilance and urged a sustained offensive to permanently deny terrorists freedom of movement in the region.
