Nigerian Navy assists in rescue operation after Lagos building collapse

Nigerian Navy personnel successfully rescued over 10 victims from a building collapse in Alakija, Lagos, and provided urgent medical care at a naval hospital.

On Monday, the Nigerian Navy conducted a rescue operation at a collapsed building site in Alakija, Lagos. Personnel responded immediately to distress calls, working alongside other emergency teams to pull survivors from the wreckage.

Director of Naval Information, Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, confirmed that more than 10 individuals, including children, were recovered from the debris. The victims were promptly transported to the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital in Ojo for medical treatment. Current reports indicate that the rescued individuals are receiving continuous care from hospital staff.

The Chief of the Naval Staff praised the rescue team for their professional conduct and acknowledged the vital support provided by local emergency responders and the public. In an official statement, the Navy expressed its condolences to the families affected by the tragedy and reaffirmed its dedication to supporting civil authorities during emergency situations.
