Soldiers from the 8 Division Garrison of the Nigerian Army recently took four individuals into custody at a rural market in Darussa, Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The suspects were identified while attempting to sell six cows that were allegedly stolen.
An anonymous security official confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria that the men in custody are Usman Bammo, 45, Ali Usman, 23, Abubakar Garba, 30, and Muhammadu Dage, 25. Alongside the animals, authorities seized two mobile phones and N165,000 in cash from the group.
This operation was initiated based on reliable intelligence aimed at protecting local residents from criminal activities. Officials expressed gratitude to the community for providing the tip-off and encouraged citizens to keep collaborating with security forces to address the ongoing threats of banditry and terrorism.
