AIG Dankombo F. Morris, the head of Zone 4 Headquarters in Makurdi, recently organized a vital security summit to confront the deteriorating safety conditions in Benue State. This gathering, hosted at the Police Officers’ Mess in Makurdi, was prompted by orders from Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu following a notable increase in regional crime.
As reported by Zonal Police spokesperson ASP Ayo Oluwaseun Martins, the session involved key figures including CP Cletus Nwadiogbu, state government officials, assembly members, religious and traditional authorities, and various community organizations. During the event, AIG Morris emphasized that public safety requires shared effort, calling on all parties to work alongside law enforcement to deter criminals.
The AIG promised that all suggestions and findings from the event will be forwarded to the Inspector-General to shape future security strategies. Participants engaged in detailed discussions regarding local threats and proposed actionable solutions to improve intelligence gathering and community engagement, ultimately pledging their ongoing cooperation in the fight against crime.
