NACCIMA Seeks Chinese Investment to Drive Nigeria’s $1 Trillion Economy Goal

NACCIMA is set to host a major business forum in Guangzhou to attract Chinese investment, aiming to support Nigeria’s goal of reaching a $1 trillion economy by 2030.

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) is organizing its third Business and Investment Forum in Guangzhou, China. This initiative aims to secure foreign direct investment to help achieve the federal government’s target of a $1 trillion economy by 2030.

Held alongside the 140th Canton Fair, the event intends to link Nigerian firms with prominent Chinese manufacturers and industry leaders. NACCIMA representative Madinat Adigun-Oladotun explained that the forum supports President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ by promoting Nigeria as a primary hub for industrial development. She emphasized the need for the country to shift from a consumption-based model toward one focused on local manufacturing and value addition.

Adigun-Oladotun highlighted that Nigeria’s resources and location offer significant potential as an African gateway. However, realizing this potential requires improved infrastructure, financing, and technical collaboration. Through past cooperation with the China Chamber of International Commerce in Guangzhou, NACCIMA has already fostered interest in sectors such as electric vehicle production, agribusiness, renewable energy, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Public and private sector participants are encouraged to join the upcoming trade mission. By utilizing Guangzhou’s position as a global commercial center, local businesses can secure partnerships that drive job creation and long-term economic stability.
